San Francisco Symphony

client: San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center

role: designer / software developer

agency: AV&C

I designed AV systems, custom fabrication and audio processing for the LED facade of the Louise M Davies Symphony Hall, home of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and part of the San Francisco War Memorial Performing Arts Center.

We integrated linear LED and PAR lights into three floors of the front facing windows of this historic building. The most challenging aspect of this project was getting the LEDs where we needed them, in the least damaging way possible.

I modeled custom fabrication in Rhino and generated detailed AV systems documents in Vectorworks. I also created a max/msp patch that took inputs from the music performed in the concert hall to alter the lighting on the building facade.
