Neil Greenberg’s (like a vase) explores the tensions created by the seemingly inescapable human desire to make meaning. With this work Greenberg and his collaborators seek to create room for the viewer to experience dance, music and performance less as speech acts and more as one might encounter an art object—like a vase—without necessarily asking “what is this (vase) saying?”

I designed sounds and wrote electronic parts for the original score by Zeena Parkins. I played the electronic parts live and processed Zeena’s harp and Shayna’s percussion live.

The music Zeena, Shayna and I made for this dance piece became the foundation of our trio the Adorables.
